National Dog Day is coming up again on August 26th, and we are ready. National Dog Day was started by Colleen Paige \u2014 a renowned dog trainer, author, and conservationist \u2014 back in 2004. Today, National Dog Day is celebrated all over and its core mission is to help the public recognize the number of dogs that need rescuing every year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can learn more about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/NationalDogDay\/\">National Dog Day<\/a>, and if you\u2019re traveling to DC during the holiday this year, here are some tips on how to celebrate National Dog Day at Annapolis Waterfront Hotel.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Stay with Annapolis Waterfront Hotel<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Your first step, if you haven\u2019t taken it yet, should be to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.annapoliswaterfront.com\/stay\">book a room at the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel<\/a>. Encouraging Coastal Canines, we happily welcome dogs up to 100 pounds. Larger breeds can also come but at the discretion of hotel management. And while you\u2019re with us, pets are allowed in all public areas and at Pusser\u2019s Caribbean Grille Dock Bar here at the property.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Take A Walk at Jonas &amp; Anne Catharine Green Park<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This small park features nice grass and walkways along the scenic Severn River. This is really close to our hotel, and a great first destination if you\u2019re setting off on a day of adventures. On your walk from your Annapolis accommodations over to Jonas &amp; Anne Catharine Green Park, you can also stop off at Heinman Park and Rickover Terrace for some nice views, walkways, and more.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Check Out Quiet Waters Dog Park&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re down to adventure a little further out Quiet Waters Dog Park and beach is only a ten-minute drive away. In fact, at only three-and-a-half miles from the property, you could even take a long walk over there. This gorgeous park features over 340 acres of gorgeous lawns and land for your dog to run around and exercise on during National Dog Day. While you\u2019re there, the family can hike on trails, take the kids to a playground, and even set up a DIY picnic.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eat at The Wet Dog Cafe<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To keep things on theme, you can head to Port Annapolis for a delicious burger and fries at the Wet Dog Cafe. With puppies hanging around, and canine-themed signage, this is a great, filling stop-off for a dog-loving family traveling in town during this special time of year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Wet Dog Cafe. There is a wide selection of dog-friendly ice creams that come in waffle bowls and bowls with a topping bar that will have your pup going absolutely nuts.
